About

My name is Tim and welcome to my blog!

I am just a regular guy who took up running in my 30’s after accepting a challenge of running a half marathon back in 2006.

I had never been sporty at school but with some anxiety and a complete lack of knowledge started to go out for little runs, learning painfully at times, what to do and not what to do. I got up to regularly running a 10k each week, and eventually ran for 1 hour and 30 minutes as my longest practice run.

I completed my first half marathon in Cardiff in 2006 and loved the experience, finishing in 2 hours and 11 minutes.

Although being a Dad and life’s ups and down meant I never took running too seriously, I tried to run at least one or two half marathons each year. However it was very much train for a race and then relapse in the Winter months.

Around 2019 I learnt that there was a local running club in my country town. Being surrounded by other runners helped me learn to run regularly and do things properly.

In 2023 I was lucky to run my first marathon in New York which was an amazing experience.

This blog is an opportunity to share with you my journey and any tips I have picked up on the way. I remain just a regular runner, but as that is lots of us, I hope you find better for a run of interest!

I’m Tim

Like many people I took up running later in my life. I’m no elite athlete but have found how much better running is for my mind and body. This blog shares my journey for those runners who just want to feel better for a run.
